Why Internet Explorer 6 needs to die

April 2, 2010  |  Freelance, Technology, Web Development  |  2 Comments

Well, as some of you may know, IE6 can be hell for designers and developers, myself included. I recently StumbledUpon, this video by Eli Röss and could not resist sharing it. It simply gives the straight facts, so too anyone still using IE6, well, I doubt you are looking at my site so, whatever, but remember if your client asks for IE6 compatibly, gladly agree, and be sure to include an adjusted rate for all the hours of heartache you will go through making their site compatible.

Anyhow, on with the show. Hope you enjoy.

Some crazy awesome CSS

March 13, 2010  |  Shout-Outs, Technology  |  No Comments

This is certainly some new school CSS and not fully stable across all browsers, but it is totally a great progression for CSS. Anyhow, I just wanted to share this with the world. I know a lot of you may have seen this already, as it was Dugg a while back as I recollect. Nonetheless, check it out over here at Román Cortés’ blog. He is also the creator of this monster.

A little behind...

A little behind…

Well, I think it is safe to say I have been a little slow one getting everything going on here. To be frank, the primary reason is my day job and multiple freelance contracts with intersecting deadlines. I will however be working my hardest to do some of the following:

  • Get all of my portfolio pieces online, there are a lot, and only one up here is representative of my work
  • A minimum of one blog post a week (I would love to do five, but realistically, lets start with one)
  • Some new headers, although I don’t mind the header on the portfolio page, I think it could offer more.

Anyways… a little update to what I have been getting involved in recently.

  • Took a full time, permanent merchandising/promotions role at Conestoga College, very excited to start! This position is growth in the right direction and offer some serious long-term possibilities!
  • Finishing work on the Sportco Source for Sports site, their current one is in a major need of updating, this should be launching in the coming week
  • Securing new contract work with the following local businesses: Siht Optical (Bauer Lofts) and Melitsa’s (The Belmont Village)
  • There are couple other sites that are coming down the pipe but the above ones are the priority as of current.

I think that is all for now and hope everyone keeps checking back for updates as I will be getting portfolio items up as quick as possible.

Poolga = Love - best iPhone wallpapers

Poolga = Love – best iPhone wallpapers

The above statement could not be more true, I mean wow. A while back I stumbled upon Poolga by pure chance and although I had given it shout outs on Twitter, I thought it was worthy of a brief post as I decided on a quick visit back to Poolga to see any updates after noticing it in my bookmarks.

Truly, Poolga is the best iPhone wallpaper source out there, now of course, some may argue that Interfacelift may be better, but frankly it is not, unless we are talking desktop wallpapers.

Anyhow, everyone with an iPhone or iPod touch should check it out – so to summarize once again Poolga = Love. Also, I should point out, Poolga is brought to you by We Love Books, which focuses on layout and design of books, truly masters at their art.
